GDP growth in Kazakhstan in the first quarter 2008 made 105.3 %

Astana. April 15. Kazakhstan Today - In the first quarter of 2008 GDP growth in Kazakhstan made 105.3 %. The Minister of Economics and Budgetary Planning Bakhyt Sultanov informed today at the government session, the agency reports. "Safety factor made earlier by our economy and the measures taken by the government have allowed GDP of 105.3 % that corresponds to the forecasted parameters of 5 - 7 % in the first quarter," B. Sultanov said. The Minister of Economics and Budgetary Planning noted that "the rate of inflation in January - March, 2008 by December 2007 made 2.5 %, that is by 0.1 % less than for the similar period of the last year." According to his data, growth of industrial production in the first quarter made 3.7 %, thus, there was some decrease in rates of growth of manufacturing industry by 1.2 % due to decrease in rates of growth of production of nonferrous metals and construction materials.
