Kazakhstan Today - Petro Kazakhstan Kumkol Resources Company signed with akim of Kyzylorda oblast the memorandum of cooperation in social and economic development of the region for 2008, according to which the company allocates to the Demeu Social Fund $4 million, the company informs. According to press service of Petro Kazakhstan, according to the signed memorandum, the funds are allocated "for financing of the projects directed at support of various social, ecological, cultural, sports and other activities in the oblast." "The memorandum was signed by akim of Kyzylorda oblast Mukhtar Kul-Muhammed and the chairman of Petro Kazakhstan Kumkol Resources Company Bo Qilian," the press release states. The Demeu Social Fund is a noncommercial organization called to finance socially significant and socially useful projects by the means allocated by various oil-and-gas companies working in Kyzylorda oblast.
