Current consumption of electrical energy exceeded volumes of its production in Kazakhstan - Mynbayev
Astana. April 22. Kazakhstan Today - Consumption of electrical energy has exceeded volumes of its production in Kazakhstan in the first quarter of 2008. The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sauat Mynbayev informed today at the government session, the agency reports.
"76.4 billion kw/h of electric power was produced, 76.3 billion kw/h was consumed, and growth made accordingly 6.9 % and 6.5 % in 2007," S. Mynbayev said.
"The balance of production and consumption of electrical energy during autumn-winter period is the evidence of absence of capacity reserves in the country ... For the first quarter of 2008, 22.8 billion kw-h have been produced, 23 billion have been consumed, and growth has made accordingly 6.9 % and 9 %," he added.
"Thus, from the beginning of the year volume of consumption has already exceeded volume of production," the Minister emphasized.
