Agency on regulation of activities of Almaty Regional Financial Center reported to Nazarbayev on financial center development
Almaty. April 25. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev accepted the next annual report of the Agency on regulation of activities of Almaty Regional Financial Center on the course of realization of the assignments on development of the regional financial center and the share market of the country in Almaty on Thursday, the agency reports referring to the agency's press service.
"In 2007 the work of the agency was directed at improvement of the legislative base, development of infrastructure, introduction of new financial tools, training of the population of the bases of the share market," the agency's press service informs.
According to the agency, parameters of the share market of the country have increased. Capitalization of the securities market has grown by 60 %, by January, 1, 2008 has reached $68.6 billion (67.3 % of Kazakhstan GDP), and as of April, 2008 - nearly $100 billion.
"After creation of the Agency on regulation of activities of Almaty Regional Financial Center volume of tenders in the share market of non-state securities has grown by 87.8 % and made $13.23 billion (in the first quarter 2008 - $14.33 billion). For comparison: Kazakhstan by this parameter occupies the second place among the CIS countries after Russia," the message informs.
The Agency on regulation of activities of Almaty Regional Financial Center created all conditions for attraction of the world known broker companies, such as ABN AMRO Securities Kazakhstan, HSBC Securities Kazakhstan, Ansher Capital Kazakhstan, Top-Invest, Unicorn IFC, Renaissance Capital Investments Kazakhstan (68 broker and dealer organizations in the I quarter of 2008).
