Kazakhstan ratified UN Convention on Corruption
Astana. May 6. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev signed the law on ratification of the UN Convention on Corruption, the agency reports referring to Kazakhstan official mass media.
As it was informed earlier, the objective of signing the UN Convention is assistance to acceptance and strengthening of more effective and efficient corruption prevention measures, encouragement, simplification and support of international cooperation in corruption prevention and struggle with it, including the measures of return of the assets obtained illegally.
The convention provides a complex of measures for corruption prevention, including in the sphere of public service, public purchases, public finance management, and participation of the society in corruption prevention.
The convention was accepted by the UN General Assembly on October 31, 2003 in New York.
