April gold and exchange currency reserves of Kazakhstan increased by 3.9 %
Almaty. May 6. Kazakhstan Today - International reserves of the country as a whole (in current prices), including money of the National Fund (by preliminary data $23 300.4 million), have grown by 3.9 % and have made $44 027.1 million, the agency reports referring to the message of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Decrease in net internal assets of the National Bank in April, 2008 caused reduction of monetary base by 2.8 % (or by 44.7 billion KZT).
Purchase of currency in the internal currency market and receipt of currency on the government's accounts, as well as increase of the rests in the correspondent accounts of the second-tier banks in foreign currency in the National Bank have been partially neutralized by operations on external debt service of the government.
As a result, net foreign currency reserves (hard currency) have increased by $1 609.1 million, assets in gold have decreased by $150.5 million as a result of decrease in its price in the world markets by 7.4 %.
In current prices, net international reserves of the National Bank have grown by 7.6 % (or by $1 458.6 million).
