Kazakhstan to strengthen energy cooperation with Turkmenistan
Astana. May 6. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan plans to strengthen energy cooperation with Turkmenistan. The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev said after official ceremony of presentation of credentials of the Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Kazakhstan Kurbanmuhamed Kasymov on Monday, the agency reports.
"The agenda of the bilateral cooperation will include the questions of development of power partnership, use of transit-transport potential, expansion of trade and economic and cultural-humanitarian cooperation," N. Nazarbayev emphasized.
He reminded that during the last meetings the arrangements on reconstruction of the gas pipe line Central Asia - the Center, construction of the Near-Caspian gas pipe line and railroad branch from Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan and further to Iran have been reached.
In his turn, the Turkmen diplomat stated interest in expansion of bilateral cooperation, including in energy sphere. "Turkmenistan attaches great value to development of mutual relations with Kazakhstan in the field of energy and oil and gas," K. Kasymov emphasized.
