Base pension in Kazakhstan to be increased by 600 KZT since July 1, 2008 - Sultanov

Astana. May 16. Kazakhstan Today - Base pension in Kazakhstan will be increased by 600 KZT since July 1, 2008. Kazakhstan pensioners will also receive compensation for the first six months of current year in the sum of 600 KZT a month. The Minister of Economics and Budgetary Planning Bakhyt Sultanov informed today, the agency reports. "Base pension has been proposed to be increased by 600 KZT since July 1, 2008. As increase of prices occurred at the beginning of the year and affects the whole year, pensioners will be paid 600 KZT for the first six months of 2008," B. Sultanov said. He explained that change of base pension payments is connected with increase of living wage in the Republic from 10 515 KZT up to 12 025 KZT. "Accordingly, it has been proposed to increase base pension, which now makes 4 210 KZT, by 600 KZT, besides, the project of the amended budget proposes to make one-time compensation to pensioners," the Minister of Economics and Budgetary Planning Bakhyt Sultanov said. According to the minister, the project of the amended budget proposes to increase students' scholarships up to 7500 KZT since September, 1, 2008.
