Full interdiction of import of production wastes to be legislatively regulated in Kazakhstan - Ecology Ministry
Astana. May 26. Kazakhstan Today - Full interdiction of import of production wastes and consumption will be legislatively regulated in the country. The Minister of Environmental Protection of Kazakhstan Nurlan Iskakov informed at the meeting with maslikhat deputies of Akmola oblast on Saturday, the agency reports.
"On behalf of the President the Ministry prepares the bill on amendments and additions into the Ecological Code on full interdiction of import of out-of-date, polluting technologies to Kazakhstan.
"An opportunity of sending from Semipalatinsk range condensers and transformers for processing to Germany is being considered," the Minister of Environmental Protection informed. He reminded that the first consignment - one thousand dangerous condensers from Daryal-U range in Karaganda oblast has been taken out to the city of Bremen (Germany) and destroyed. "This year we plan to send 25 thousand more condensers," N. Iskakov informed.
