23 billion KZT to be allocated for increase of social security benefits

Astana. May 27. Kazakhstan Today - 23 billion KZT has been allocated in the budget to increase social security benefits and compensations for the first half of 2008. The Minister of Economics and Budgetary Planning Bakhyt Sultanov informed on Tuesday during the government session, the agency reports. The Minister reminded that according to the assignment of the leader of the state living wage and minimal salary will be increased since July 1 from 10 515 KZT up to 12 025 KZT. "As a result, since July 1, base social payments will be increased and paid to addressees of pensions and social benefits with additional compensation to these categories of citizens for I half of 2008, totaling 23 billion KZT," he said. "Size of base pension payment will be increased by 14.4 %, up to 4810 KZT. Pensioners will receive 1200 KZT monthly in addition to compensation," B. Sultanov explained. According to Minister of Economics and Budgetary Planning, disabled workers will receive on average 2928 KZT, families who have lost their bread winners - 2666 KZT, and addressees of social security benefits for old age - 1510 KZT. "The mechanism of increase of pension payments since January 1, 2009 will be developed to realize the order of the leader of the state on increase of average sizes of pensions twice by 2012, the Minister added. "The programs will be considered tomorrow in Majilis," the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Masimov summed up the discussion.
