EurAsEC Energy Policy Council reached consensus on concept of formation of uniform energy market
Bishkek. June 2. Kazakhstan Today - Bishkek hosted the session of EurAsEC Energy Policy Council. According to the chairman, Vice Minister of Energy of Belorussia Michael Mihadyuk, "at last we will reach consensus on the project of the concept of formation of the uniform energy market of EurAsEC member states," the agency reports.
"This version of the concept, discussed on Friday, will be directed to the Integration Committee for further approval by all EurAsEC member countries' leaders," Vice Minister of Energy of Belorussia said.
According to the adviser of Department for Energy Policy and Ecology of Kyrgyzstan Erkinbek Kulshabayev, the session participants considered the questions of great importance for development of cooperation of EurAsEC countries. In particular, the questions of cooperation in the field of power, the project of concept of formation of the uniform energy market on assistance with EurAsEC members, as well as the project of joint fuel and energy balance for 2008 - 2009 have been considered. "We hope to resolve a number of disagreements regarding this project. These questions concern transit and transportation of oil-and-gas resources," E. Kulshabayev added.
Representatives of the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and EurAsEC Secretariat of the Integration Committee took part in the Council meeting.
