Atyrau. June 9. Today Kazakhstan - The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev considers that the only solution of energy deficit problem in the immediate prospects is stimulation of energy saving. He stated his opinion during the 19th plenary session of Foreign Investors Council on Friday, the agency reports. "Electric power industry - one of the most inertial branches, commissioning of new capacities of which requires significant time, but we will face energy deficit in the near future. Therefore, the only opportunity to solve this problem in the short and intermediate term prospects is stimulation of energy saving," N. Nazarbayev said. "In some regions normative losses make 22 %, besides them there are commercial losses, which on average make 7 % of total energy consumption. We need to reduce these losses, to strengthen transfer of technologies and leasing of modern equipment, minimizing energy consumption," N. Nazarbayev said. "The state needs to render support including financial to the enterprises realizing the programs on decrease of power consumption," he considers. "All over the world the resources invested into energy saving became a valuable alternative to construction of new power objects and in most cases more efficient," he stated. In this connection, N. Nazarbayev has given an example of the countries-participants of the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development, which for the last 25 years due to purposeful energy saving policies have decreased energy consumption of GDP by almost 28 %.
