Astana. June 9. Kazakhstan Today - Prices in the primary housing market in Kazakhstan in May, 2008 decreased by 0.5 %, the agency reports referring to the message of Statistics Agency. According to Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan, prices have gone down by 3.9 % in the secondary housing market in the accounting month. "In May, 2008 in comparison with the last month in the primary housing market prices have decreased in Astana - by 1.1 %, Almaty - by 0.8 %," the statisticians specified. In the secondary market, according to the statistical data, prices for the last month decreased in Aktobe - by 12.8 %, Astana - by 12.6 %, Almaty - by 9.6 %, Petropavlovsk - by 3 %, Ust Kamenogorsk - by 2.8 %, Pavlodar - by 1.8 % and Uralsk - by 1.7 %. According to the department, supervision over prices in housing market is carried out in Astana, Almaty and the regional centers on a selective basis of organizations dealing with real estate operations, including construction companies.
