Iran takes part in construction of first highway in Kazakhstan
Almaty. June 10. Kazakhstan Today - Iran takes part in construction of the first high-speed highway in Kazakhstan Astana-Schuchinsk, the agency reports referring to Iranian News Agency Mehr on Monday.
The Governor of Central Province of Iran Abdollah Sohrabi had been invited by akim of Karaganda oblast Nurlan Nigmatulin to the investment forum Karaganda-Invest-2008, during within A. Sohrabi familiarized with the project of the first auto ban in Kazakhstan, in construction of which the Iranian experts are also taking part.
Highway Astana-Schuchinsk will connect the capital of Kazakhstan with the resort zone Borovoy, Mehr informs.
The 224-km-long road connecting Astana to Schuchinsk city is one of the most overloaded in the country. The new highway will increase capacity to take 40.000 cars per day.
The project provides for construction of 23 overpasses, five stations of road maintenance, and three wayside complexes.
So-called "intelligent" systems of video surveillance and speed- and traffic intensity-measuring facilities will also be installed.
Construction works on the road are carried out by three Kazakh companies and two foreign companies - Todini of Italy and Dena Rahsaz of Iran.
According to Mehr News Agency, Dena Rahsaz has so far constructed and repaired 100 Km of Kazakhstan's main roads as of 2001 and was appointed as the technical consultant of the neighboring country's Ministry of Transportation and Communications.
