Real wages in April, 2008 decreased by 1.6 % in Kazakhstan
Astana. June 12. Kazakhstan Today - Monthly average nominal wages of employees in April, 2008 have made 57 897 KZT and have increased in comparison with the similar period of the last year by 17.2 %, in actual expression - have decreased by 1.6 % in Kazakhstan, Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan informed the agency.
According to Statistics Agency, in January - April of 2008 monthly average nominal wages have totaled 56 021 KZT, having increased by 17.1 %. In real expression the parameter has decreased by 1.4 %.
"Employees wages increased in all kinds of economic activities. Wages of agriculture workers in April, 2008 as compared to the similar month of 2007 have increased - by 38.6 %, real estate agents - by 28.5 %, trade - by 26.4 %, and industry - by 24.9 %," Statistics Agency informs.
According to the department, in April, 2008 wages of employees of financial sector have totaled 153 thousand KZT and have exceeded average republican level by 2.6 times, mining industry - 101.4 thousand KZT (1.8 times), real estate sphere - 88.6 thousand KZT (1.5 times), transport and communication - 75.2 thousand KZT (1.3 times)."
Wages in education sphere, according to statistical data, has made 33 297 KZT that is below than on average in the country by 42.5 %, public health services - 34 547 KZT (below by 40.3 %). "The lowest wages - of agriculture workers - 25 690 KZT," Statistics Department informs.
According to Statistics Agency, as for regional differences the highest wages are in Atyrau oblast - 106 001 KZT (by 1.8 times exceeds average in the country), in Almaty - 88 031 KZT (by 1.5 times higher than average republican level), Astana - 83 859 KZT and Mangistau oblasts - 83 286 KZT (by 1.4 times).
Wages below average republican level are in twelve areas. In the Northern Kazakhstan its size has made 36 629 KZT, Zhambyl oblast - 36 945 KZT, Akmola - 39 396 KZT that is by 32 - 36 % below the average level in the country, the department informed.
