Prime Minister held a number of meetings with participants of Asia Society's 2nd International Conference

Astana. June 13. Kazakhstan Today - The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Karim Masimov held a number of meetings with participants of Asia Society's 2nd International Conference, the agency reports referring to the message of the prime minister's press service. "The prime Minister at the meeting with the chairman of the Asian Society Richard Holbrooke discussed the topics of the conference and the questions of the current economic situation in the world and Kazakhstan. The conference will take place on June 13 in Astana," the message informs. Noting social and economic and political prospects of development of Kazakhstan, Richard Holbrooke has expressed the opinion on support of election of Kazakhstan for the post of OSCE country-chairman in 2010. During discussion of further cooperation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the United States of America R. Holbrooke expressed confidence that "no matter who will win in the forthcoming elections for the post of the president of the United States, bilateral cooperation will continue to develop." Karim Masimov noted that Kazakhstan continues to adhere to the principles of open, constructive and responsible partner cooperation and supports further strengthening relationships between Kazakhstan and the USA. According to the press service, on the second half of the day the Prime Minister met the President of Cambridge Energy Research Associates Daniel Yergin and exchanged opinion on the situation in the world energy market and development tendencies of energy sector in Kazakhstan. According to the press service, the questions of Asia Society's 2nd International Conference were considered during the meeting of the Prime Minister with the group of representatives of Confederation of Indian Industry. "The delegation of the Indian industrialists at the business-conference represents the leading companies carrying out activity in energy, construction, chemical, machine-building and agricultural branches," the press service explained. "High level of your delegation confirms serious intentions of the Indian party to develop bilateral trade and economic cooperation. We look at prospects of relations between our countries with optimism and expect great results," K. Masimov said.
