Agriculture Ministry suggests increasing volumes of state subsidies for rice production
Astana. June 16. Kazakhstan Today - The Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Akylbek Kurishbayev suggests increasing size of state subsidies for rice production today during the selector government meeting, the agency reports.
"In connection with the developed weather conditions and inadequate provision of irrigation water in Kyzylorda, there have been suggested increasing subsidies for production of rice. We have considered this question and the data have shown that we need to increase subsidies as the problem is connected with purchase of rice this year," A. Kurishbayev said.
"We have prepared the project of the decree on allocation of resources from the government reserve and now it has been forwarded for coordination to the Ministry," the Minister of Agriculture noted.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, subsidies for one hectare of crops of rice make 7.5 thousand KZT, agricultural department suggests allocating additional 13 thousand KZT for a hectare. The areas of crops of rice this year, according to A. Kurishbayev, were reduced by 12 thousand hectares and made 74 thousand hectares.
