Aktau. June 16. Kazakhstan Today - Finland is interested in cooperation with Mangistau oblast. The Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary Ambassador of the Finnish Republic to Kazakhstan and Central Asian countries Maria-Liza Kilunen stated during her working visit of Mangistau oblast on Friday, the agency reports. The delegation structure of Finland included representatives of business-structures, engaged in logistics, automated technologies, and off shore projects rendering engineering services. During the visit M. L. Kilunen met akim of Mangistau oblast Krymbek Kusherbayev to discuss the questions of further cooperation. At the meeting М. L. Kilunen informed that Finnish businessmen are interested in all spheres of life and economy of the region. "The world has changed. Today Central Asia is one of the important regions for the European Union both in political and economic spheres. Mangistau oil region is of great interest for the European Union," M. L. Kilunen. Finnish companies are ready to invest in development of Mangistau oblast, to help with creation of manufactures with application of high technologies, and to share their know-how. The Finnish party is interested in oil-and-gas projects, especially transportation of oil route Aktau - Baku - Tbilisi - Ceyhan. "The European Union is interested in development of new energy routes in various directions," M. L. Kilunen explained. The Finnish businessmen have offered the services on realization in Aktau of transport-logistical center and accommodation of manufactures on the territory of Free Economic Zone Seaport Aktau and construction of cement factory. After presentation of the project of development of rest zone Kenderli, of big interest for the Finnish delegation, the visitors stated desire to take part in realization of this project, in particular, in construction of its infrastructure. More than 30 Finnish companies work in Kazakhstan. Representations of two banks are planned to be opened in Kazakhstan. During the visit to Mangistau oblast of the Ambassador and the Finnish delegation, foreign visitors visited Aktau international sea trading port and Bautino - center of support of sea oil operations.
