June gold and exchange currency reserves of Kazakhstan increased by 2.2 %

Almaty. June 18. Kazakhstan Today - The international reserves of the country (in current prices), including money of the National fund (according to preliminary estimates, $25 168.7 million), have increased by 2.2 % and have made $46 538.2 million, the agency reports referring to the message of the National Bank of the Republic. The increase of net internal assets of the National Bank in the first half of June, 2008 has caused growth of monetary base by 8.1 % (or by 137.9 billion KZT). In current prices net international reserves of the National Bank have decreased by 0.5 % (or by $105.9 million). Purchase of currency in the internal currency market and receipt of currency in the government accounts in the National Bank have been neutralized by operations on updating the assets of the National fund and service of external debt of the government. As a result, net foreign currency reserves (hard currency) have decreased by $71.8 million, assets in gold have decreased by $34.1 million, as a result of decrease in its price in the world markets by 1.8 %.
