Masimov charged to finish development of bills on tariff formation in electric power industry and development of resource saving technologies

Astana. June 20. Kazakhstan Today - The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Masimov charged to finish development of bills on tariff formation in electric power industry and development of alternative energy sources by September, the agency reports. "I charge to introduce at the government session in July set of bills concerning electric power industry to be able to introduce it in the Parliament in September," K. Masimov said. The bills will be directed at support of use of alternative energy sources and development of market relations in electric power industry. According to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of Kazakhstan Sauat Mynbayev, the accelerated acceptance of the documents is necessary to solve the problems of sharp deficit in electric power industry and modernization of electric networks. Consumption of electricity in Kazakhstan since 2002 has grown by more than third and the capacity - only by 3.5 %. And now when reserves of operating stations have been exhausted, the economy, including industry, has to work in conditions of restricted energy supply.
