Akim of new administrative region of Almaty appointed
Almaty. July 3. Kazakhstan Today - Bagdat Manzorov has been appointed akim of the new administrative region of Almaty - Alatau, the agency reports referring to the press service of Almaty akim.
According to the press service, XI session of maslikhat of Almaty of the 4th convocation took place on Wednesday. Almaty akim, Ahmetzhan Esimov, took part in its work. He noted that creation of the new region will solve problems of the population living on its territory.
The session participants discussed questions concerning formation of the new administrative region of Almaty and change the borders of the regions, renaming of some micro districts, streets and housing complexes of the city; the budget of Almaty for 2008; the program Development and modernization of energy complex of the city for 2005 - 2015; approval of Business Council of Almaty akimat; approval of personal structure of Almaty regional commission on struggle against corruption, use of systems of water supply and sewerage in Almaty, and dismissal of Serik Kusainov from deputy powers, deputy of constituency №22, in connection with his transition to public service.
As it was informed earlier, on July, 2 Almaty maslikhat deputies voted for creation of the new administrative region that will include 14 the so-called joined settlements, the press secretary of Almaty akim Sergey Kuyanov informed the agency.
"Almaty akim told the deputies how social issues of inhabitants of the region regarding housing provision, registration and so on," S. Kuyanov said.
Population of the region will total nearly 150 thousand people.
