July 21. Kazakhstan Today - Registration and transportation of cargoes procedure through Kazakhstan border will be simplified since January, 1, 2009, the agency reports referring to the press service of Department of Customs Control of the Northern Kazakhstan oblast.
"Registration procedure and transportation of cargoes through Kazakhstan border will be simplified since January 1, 2009. Border control will be carried out only by two services: customs and boundary and functions of other supervising bodies, such as transport bodies, fytosanitory, sanitary-and-epidemiological, and veterinary control will be assigned to customs bodies," the department informs.
Registration procedure of export-import transactions provides for simplification and reduction of a number of documents for import of goods from 18 up to 11 and export - from 14 up to 10. Official registration of papers will require no more than 10 days.
The Department of Customs Control has transferred 7 billion 625.4 million KZT over six months of 2008 to the budget of the state. Foreign trade turnover for the lf-year 2008 made $942.2 million that is higher than a parameter of last year by $160.5 million. Export has made $502.9 million that is higher by $185.3 million (or 58.3 %) than in the first half of 2007. According to the press service, export of grain (55 %), mineral oil (23 %), flour (6.9 %), and scarp of ferrous metals (4.3 %) have prevailed.
"Import commodity turnover made $439.2 million. Import has decreased. Import of used automobiles (by 4001 cars) has decreased by 60 % as compared to last year. Timber import has been reduced in comparison with the last year by 50 %," the press release informs.
