Investments into electropower branch to affect tariffs - Samruk

Astana. July 23. Kazakhstan Today - Investments into electro power branch of Kazakhstan will affect tariffs. Director of Department of Control of Electropower Assets of JSC Company Samruk Holding, Askerbek Kuanyshbayev, said in the interview to journalists, the agency reports. "As it is known, huge investments are needed to modernize enterprises of electro power branch and to provide growing demand of Kazakhstan for electric power, which, by estimations of the experts of the Ministry for the Power Generating Industry and the system operator of JSC Company KEGOC, will make more than $22 billion till 2015," A. Kuanyshbayev said. "These huge investments will, certainly, affect tariffs and prices for electric power," he continued. "Kyoto Protocol will be very likely ratified this year. The leader of the state has already charged the state bodies to consider ratification of the protocol, which once again confirms importance of energy saving issue and introduction of energy efficient technologies," A. Kuanyshbayev concluded.
