ASTANA. February 21. KAZINFORM – A session of a workgroup on preparations for the regional session under the aegis of the World Economic Forum in the Central Asia, Almaty city, on October 11-12 has been held today in Astana under the chairmanship of Industry and Trade Minister of Kazakhstan Galym Orazbakov.The representatives of the secretariat of the World Economic Forum (Davos, the Swiss Confederation) represented by Felix Howald, the World Economic Forum's director for Europe and Central Asia, authorized member of group for Central Asia C. Marakhov and director for service and organization of events participated in the session. Issues concerning organization and financing of the regional session of the WEF in Almaty city, visa provision of the foreign delegation and theme of the session were discussed there. An action plan on preparation for the regional session of the WEF in Almaty was approved during the sitting. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Kazakh Government and the WEF. Besides that, delegation of the WEF secretariat held a number of bilateral meetings in Astana and Almaty cities with the largest companies of Kazakhstan as Kazyna Sustainable Development Fund, KazMunaiGaz JSC, Kazakhtelekom JSC and KazakhMys JSC.
