Quantity of dominants in economy of Kazakhstan increases annually - Esenbayev

August 13. Kazakhstan Today - Number of dominants in the economy of Kazakhstan increases annually. The chairman of Agency of Competitionon Protection, Mazhit Esenbayev, informed today during the round table on discussion of the bill on competition, the agency reports. "Necessity of acceptance of the modern Law on Competition is stipulated, first of all, by the circumstance that despite of formation of favorable conditions in the country for development of competitive environment there are still many highly concentrated commodity markets with not developed competition," M. Esenbayev said. About one thousand dominants, besides natural and state monopoly, exist in Kazakhstan. "Thus, quantity of dominants increases annually: in 2005 there were 844, in 2006 - 877, and last year there were 927 such subjects of the market," the chairman of Agency on Protection of Competition emphasized.
