Minimum level of bank capital to be increased since 2009
Almaty. September 9. Kazakhstan Today - Minimum level of bank capital will be increased since 2009. The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Karim Masimov, informed during conference - Central Asia. Investment Opportunities. New Silk Way, the agency reports.
"A number of maintaining measures has been accepted to guarantee stability of domestic banking sector in the long-term period. First, the requirements to the minimum level of reserve capital have been increased. Secondly, minimum level of bank capital will be increased since 2009. Thirdly, minimum size of the authorized capital of banks will be increased since 2010," K. Masimov informed.
"In our opinion these measures should lower financial risks due to improvement of the assets of banks, increase of their capitalization and liquidity," he emphasized.
The Prime Minister noted that "proceeding from already realized and proposed measures as well as the policy of economic growth being realized according to the goals of modernization defined by the leader of the state, we forecast positive tendencies in development of the banking sector of Kazakhstan."
