September gold and exchange currency reserves of Kazakhstan decreased by 0.4 %
Almaty. September 18. Kazakhstan Today - The international reserves of the country as a whole (in current prices), including money of the National Fund (by preliminary data $26 444.6 million), decreased by 0.4 % and made $48 110.2 million, the agency reports referring to the message of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Growth of net internal assets of the National Bank in the first half of September, 2008 has caused an expansion of the monetary base by 0.8 % (or by 14.7 billion KZT).
Reduction of the rests in the correspondent accounts of the second-tier banks in foreign currency in the National Bank and service of external debt of the government have been neutralized by operations on purchase of currency in internal currency market and receipt of currency in the government accounts in the National Bank.
As a result, net foreign currency reserves (hard currency) have grown by $89.3 million; assets in gold have decreased by $168.8 million as a result of operations and decrease of its price in the world markets by 8.95 %.
In current prices net international reserves of the National Bank have decreased by 0.4 % (or by $79.5 million).
