Commodity turnover between Iran and Kazakhstan in 3 years to make $3 billion

Aktau. October 2. Kazakhstan Today - Commodity turnover between Iran and Kazakhstan will increase in the nearest three years by 4 times and will make $3 billion. The Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Kazakhstan, Romin Mehmonparast, said at the opening of the exhibition of oil-and-gas potential of Iran on Wednesday, the agency reports. The Iranian companies presented at the exhibition are very powerful in the sphere of oil and gas extraction and oil refining. The Ambassador of Iran to Kazakhstan has noted that Iran along with Kazakhstan and other Caspian littoral states need to realize on the Caspian Sea such project, as general navigation. "We should develop port infrastructures," R. Mehmonparast considers. He noted that the document on cooperation of port Aktau with three major ports of Iran has been already signed. The Ambassador informed that regular flights between Aktau and the Iranian cities are planned to be organized. "We are now thinking of establishing regular flights Aktau - Gorgan in the north, there from to Teheran and other countries of the Persian Gulf, and also direct air service between Aktau and Teheran to develop passenger and trading ferry communications," the Ambassador said. As it was informed earlier, in 2006 during the official visit to Mangistau oblast of the delegation from three Northern provinces of the Islamic Republic of Iran - Mazandaran, Gilan and Gulistan, the akim of the oblast, Krymbek Kusherbayev, and representatives of three provinces signed the memorandum of trade and economic cooperation.
