Kazakh President, Azerbaijan FM discussed oil and gas cooperation
ASTANA. February 27. KAZINFORM. /Dina Yermaganbetova/ President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and Foreign Affairs Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mamediyarov have discussed issues concerning cooperation in oil and gas sector.
As it is known the main trend of the Kazakh-Azerbaijan collaboration in this sphere is transportation of oil from Kazakhstan to the world markets through the TransCaspian route. Last year the countries inked a treaty foreseeing Kazakhstan’s accession to the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline.
"Azerbaijan plans to launch this year the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzerum gas pipeline from the deposit at the Caspian Sea and Kazakhstan displays interest to this pipeline too," Mamediyarov told a briefing.
