TEL-AVIV. February 28. KAZINFORM – Bilateral talks on Kazakhstan’s joining the World Trade Organization took place on February 26-27 in Jerusalem, Israel, Kazinform refers to the press service of Kazakh Embassy in Israel.
The existing relations of friendship and mutual understanding between Kazakhstan and Israel became the basis for constructive trade negotiations culminating in the signing of the bilateral protocol on Kazakhstan’s entry into the WTO.
The minutes was concluded by the Israeli Prime Minister, Minister of Industry, Trade and Labor and the Kazakh Vice Minister of Industry and Trade.
Israel’s authority is paying special attention to the cooperation with Kazakhstan. That was announced during the official visit of the Kazakh delegation headed by Karim Massimov to Israel in October 2006.
Issues of the access of highly-technological technique, chemical and food industry production to Kazakhstan’s market, investment policy with relation to foreign companies delivering computing services to Kazakhstan were discussed at the meeting.
The sides considered enhancement of bilateral collaboration in the field of technical regulation, avoidance of double taxation and prospects of correspondent bilateral documents’ signing.
For the previous years volume of Kazakh-Israeli commodity circulation increased twice and amounted to USD 700 million. Priority directions of trade-economic cooperation are high technologies, bio- and nanotechnologies, agriculture, transport and communications, small business development, healthcare and education.
Signing of the protocol is an important step to the completion of the process of Kazakhstan’s entrance to WTO. It promotes further strengthening of trade-economic interaction between the two states as well.
