October gold and exchange currency reserves of Kazakhstan decreased by 4.4 %

Almaty. November 5. Kazakhstan Today - International reserves of the country as a whole (in current prices), including money of the National fund (by preliminary data $26 326.4 million), decreased by 4.4 % and have made $47 355.3 million, the agency reports referring to the message of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Decrease in net international reserves of the National Bank in October, 2008 has caused compression of monetary base by 10.5 % (or 184.7 billion KZT). Operations on sale of currency in the internal currency market, decrease of the rests on correspondent accounts of the banks of the second level in foreign currency in the National Bank, service of external duty of the government have been partially neutralized by receipt of currency in the government accounts in the National Bank. As a result, net foreign currency reserves (hard currency) have decreased by $685.4 million, assets in gold have decreased by $241.4 million as a result of decrease in its price in the world markets by 11.9 %. In current prices net international reserves of the National Bank have decreased by 4.2 % (or by $926.8 million).
