Kazakh President encourages foreign efforts in economic growth
BEIJING. Mrach 1. KAZINFORM. Kazakhstan's President called on foreign companies in the country Wednesday to make substantial efforts in promoting Kazakhstan's economic diversity.
"Foreign companies in Kazakhstan should adopt real measures to take part in the country's social development as well as the process of economic diversification," said Nursultan Nazarbayev in a state-of-the-nation address.
The Kazakh government, instructed by the president, would work out related policies and provide support to the companies which actively echo the president's appeal, according to the Kazakh news agency.
Kazakhstan should work out comprehensive social development strategies, aiming to improve the economic benefits of energy exploration by strengthening management in oil, petrochemicals, natural gas and the energy export corridor, Nazarbayev said.
The oil-rich country should also promote the growth of energy and petrochemical industries and reinforce its position in the regional and international energy markets by raising the added value of energy products, he added.
Kazakhstan could guarantee that the benefits of its foreign energy partners will be stable, consistent and predictable and it would always adhere to a responsible energy policy which is characterized by mutual benefits provided its own interests are secured, Kazinform cites Xinhua.
