Master plan for Caspian Energy Hub planned to be finished in March - April, 2009
Aktau. November 24. Kazakhstan Today - Development of the Caspian power hub master-plan project is planned to be finished in March - April, 2009. The akim of Mangistau oblast, Krymbek Kusherbayev, informed, the agency reports.
According to the oblast akim, development of the master-plan is now being realized. The project will be implemented in the territory of the city Aktau. Mr. Kusherbayev considers, "The multipurpose service-technological center for oil-and-gas industry will expand the possibilities of the near-Caspian region, assisting it realize its potential, and raise the level of the development of the human capital and economy."
K. Kusherbayev reminded the project will be carried out by the government of Kazakhstan under the aegis of Gulf Finance House and the International consulting company PFC Energy International. The Fund of National Welfare Samruk-Kazyna, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, and akimat of Mangistau oblast participate in the realization of the project.
The government of Kazakhstan has allocated $20 million. The investors from Bahrain allocated $ 20 million as well. Akim said," At the first stage, the government will allocate $400 million."
"As a whole, the project, at the initial stage, has been estimated at more than $10 billion. Realization of the project will begin after its coordination with the corresponding state bodies and will be completed within 3 - 5 years," K. Kusherbayev said.
