Kazakhstan GDP to grow by 5.3 %

Astana. December 24. Kazakhstan Today - The chairman of Department of Policy of External Debt and Assistance of the Department of Investment Policy of the Ministry of Economy and Budgetary Planning of Kazakhstan, Armand Abenov, said that Kazakhstan in 2008 will be able to reach GDP growth of 5.3 %, the agency reports. "The funds for maintenance of stability of social and economic development of the country will allow providing an additional GDP growth in 2008 by 0.7 % in real expression. This will allow reaching the forecasted parameters of growth of the economy at the level of 5.3 %," A. Abenov said. "As a result of the measures accepted in 2007-2008 and realization of the plan, the real GDP growth of Kazakhstan in 2009-2010 is expected at the level of 1 - 3 % a year," A. Abenov noted. According to the Ministry of Economy, the rate of inflation by the end of 2009 and in 2010 will be within the limits of 7 - 9 %, and the rate of unemployment in the next two years will not exceed 8 %.
