Astana. December 24. Kazakhstan Today - Population of Kazakhstan as of November, 1st, 2008 reached 15 million 750.1 thousand people, the agency reports citing Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan. According to Statistics Agency, in comparison with the beginning of the year, population has increased by 178.6 thousand people, or by 1.1 %, thus, the number of urban population for the accounting period has totaled 8399.4 thousand people (53.3 %), and rural - 7350.7 thousand people (46.7 %). According to Statistics Agency, migratory growth in the country for January - October, 2008 has reached 4842 (12 104) people. For the specified period the number of the arrived immigrants has totaled 40 668 (47 596) people and the departured emigrants - 35 826 (35 492) people. In comparison with the similar period of 2007, the number of immigrants has decreased by 6928 people, or by 14.6 % and the number of emigrants has increased by 334 people, or by 0.9 %.
