Foreign trade turnover for 9 months 2008 totaled $85.3 billion
Almaty. January 14. Kazakhstan Today - Foreign trade turnover (taking into account the amendments to customs statistics) for January - September, 2008 totaled $85.3 billion that is by $27 billion more than in the base period, the agency reports citing the press service of the National Bank of Kazakhstan.
According to the National Bank, growth of commodity turnover by 46 % occurred due to increase of export deliveries by 65.7 % and growth of import by 18.6 %.
"The indicator of transparency of the economy, used as the relation of commodity turnover to GDP, has grown as compared to the base period by 8.3 % and has totaled 87.2 %, thus the share of import to GDP was reduced by 3.4 %, and the share of export has increased by 11.8 %," the message of the National Bank of Kazakhstan informs.
