Industrial production in Kazakhstan in 2008 increased by 2.1 %
Astana. January 14. Kazakhstan Today - Industrial production in 2008 in Kazakhstan has increased by 2.1 %, the agency reports citing Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan.
"In January - December, 2008 the index of industrial production totaled 102.1 %. The country manufactured products for the sum of 10 188 billion KZT," the message of Statistics Agency informs.
Volume of production in the mining industry has increased by 5.3 % and in the sphere of manufacture and distribution of electric power, gas and water - by 6.4 %.
The main influence on slowing down of the rates of industrial production was rendered by the manufacturing industry where the index of production has been 97.4 %, Statistics Agency informs.
According to Statistics Agency, as of January - December, 2008, in comparison with the corresponding period of 2007 coal manufacture has increased by 11.8 % and natural gas - by 12.8 %.
