Kazakhstan Today - Turnover of goods in Kazakhstan in January - December, 2008 (including turnover of goods of non-transport organizations and businessmen engaged in commercial transportations) totaled 369 billion 824.7 million kilometer-tons that is more by 5.5 % as compared to the similar period of January - December, 2007, the monthly report of Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan states. According to Statistics Agency, rail freight turnover for January - December, 2008 was 215 billion 110.4 million kilometer-tons that is more by 7.1 % as compared to the similar period in 2007 - due to increase of long distance transportations inside of the country. Turnover of goods of motor transport for January - December, 2008 (including turnover of goods of non-transport organizations and businessmen engaged in commercial transportations) reached 63 billion 475.2 million kilometer-tons that is more by 2.9 % as compared to the similar period of January - December, 2007.
