Volume of coal production in Kazakhstan increased by 12%

Astana. January 22. Kazakhstan Today - The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of Kazakhstan, Sauat Mynbayev, said at the meeting in the Energy Ministry that volume of coal production in 2009 amounted to 104.9 million tons, which is more by 12% than in 2007, the agency reports. According to the Energy Minister, "volume of coal production in 2008 amounted to 104.9 million tons, or by 12% more than in 2007."Moreover, according to S. Mynbayev, for the first time in 10 years Kazakhstan last year extracted more than 100 million tons of coal. He also said that "the government approved the concept of development of coal industry of Kazakhstan till 2020."
