Public debt of Kazakhstan totals 1 trillion 330 billion KZT
Astana. February 2. Kazakhstan Today - Public debt of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as of January, 1st, 2009, has totaled 1 trillion 330 billion KZT. The Minister of Finance of Kazakhstan, Bolat Zhamishev, informed during the government session today, following the results of the work of the last year, the agency reports.
"Public debt of Kazakhstan, as of January, 1st, has amounted to 1 trillion 330 billion KZT. In comparison with the beginning of 2008, it has increased by 412 billion KZT," B. Zhamishev said.
According to the Minister of Finance, the internal government debt has made 820 billion KZT, or 80.8 % of the public debt. As of 2008, it has increased by 308 billion KZT due to investment of the state issue securities for the sum of 465 billion KZT in 2008 and paid 158 billion KZT.
"The external debt has made 195 billion KZT, or 19 % of the government debt. Total government debt makes 1 trillion 15 billion KZT," the Minister of Finance said.
