Ablyazov owned 0 % of BTA shares
Almaty. February 4. Kazakhstan Today - The chairman of the National Bank, Grigory Marchenko, during the press conference today in the National Bank of Kazakhstan said the ex-chairman of the Board of Director's of BTA Bank, Muhtar Ablyazov, owned 0 % of BTA shares, the agency reports.
"As of Saturday of last week, when these questions were discussed in the Agency for Financial Supervision, Ablyazov owned 0 % of BTA shares," G. Marchenko said.
As informed earlier, on February, 2nd, the government of Kazakhstan dismissed the chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC BTA Bank, Muhtar Ablyazov and the first vice chairman of the board of the bank, Zhaksylyk Zharimbetov, in connection with recognition of their activity not corresponding to the interests of the investors and the clients of the bank and the requirements of the current legislation," the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Karim Masimov, said.
The government of Kazakhstan approved the suggestion of the Agency for Regulation and Supervision of the Financial Market and the Financial Organizations about purchase of 78.14 % of BTA shares by the Fund of National Welfare Samruk-Kazyna.
