CIS GDP in 2008 increased by 5%
Almaty. February 5. Kazakhstan Today - In 2008, the average GDP in the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States grew by 5%, the agency reports citing the CIS Interstate Statistics Committee.
"In 2008, growth of the rate of macro-economic indicators, in most Commonwealth countries, was lower than last year. On average, in the countries of the Commonwealth, GDP increased by 5% (in 2007 - by 8.5%), industrial output - by 2% (7%), investments into fixed capital - by 10% (21%), transportation of goods - by 2% (3%), and retail trade turnover - by 14% (17%)," the press release states.
According to the agency, gross volume of agricultural products in the CIS countries on the basis of last year in all categories (in constant prices) increased by 11%, manufacturer price indices of industrial products grew by 24% and consumer price indices - by 17%.
