Authorities of Almaty refused construction of underground shopping center
Almaty. February 9. Kazakhstan Today - Almaty akim, Ahmetzhan Esimov, on Friday during the accounting meeting with the population of the city informed the authorities of Almaty have refused construction of the underground shopping center on the Republican square, the agency reports.
As informed earlier, corporation Basis A intended in February, 2009 to resume construction of the underground complex Almaly on the Republican square in Almaty. We will offer the city along with development of the project putting away vehicles under ground to make this area pedestrian. For this purpose, we will need to make a tunnel, which will begin on the other side of Mir (Zheltoksan) street and Furmanov street. The automobiles will be driving under the ground and the square will be accessible for pedestrians," A. Belovich informed.
According to A. Belovich, 1 billion 300 million KZT has been invested for realization of the project. The Republican square has been rented to Basis A for the period of 49 years.
