ASTANA. February 24. KAZINFORM /Aigul Tulekbayeva/ Vice President of the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia Shigeo Katsu has met with Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov to discussf the projects and programs implemented in our country, Kazinform reports.
S. Katsu said that Kazakhstan had stable financial situation at the beginning of the global economic crisis. «The Government responded to it timely and adopted measures on mitigation of its consequences. The Anti-Recessionary Program includes all key issues which should be considered», he said.
«The main challenge for today is to provide efficient, rapid and transparent implementation of this program. And I think everybody will agree with me that Kazakhstan’s development prospects in middle- and long-term outlook seem quite positive», S. Katsu added.
According to him, it is important to preserve the past achievements of the country, give attention to the vulnerable groups of the population, prevent worsening of the situation with credit debts of the people and invest in human capital. «Moreover the crisis allows to diversify the economy», he said.
