Commission on monitoring use of public funds meet with bankers

ALMATY. March 10. KAZINFORM. /Daniyar Sikhimbayev/ Representatives of the Commission on monitoring state funds allocated within the framework of the anti - crisis program met with the management of BTA Bank and Alliance Bank in Almaty yesterday. According to head of the commission, deputy of the Majilis of Kazakhstan Parliament Gulzhan Karagussova, the main theme of the meeting was to discuss the targeting use of state funds directed to anti-crisis programs. She noted that on March 4 BTA Bank started refinancing some projects of small and medium business. “Alliance Bank is working over the methods of financing and refinancing. Both banks work on overdue mortgage loans and the possibility of restructuring these loans”, she said. Members of the Commission paid special attention to crediting and refinancing of small and medium business. “Our President often says that not trade but production is a foundation of any economy. Besides, production is a way to survive and develop further. The Head of the State notes that it is important to develop production, and first of all, that production which allows to implement a program of economic diversification”, G. Karagussova emphasized. The deputy also noted that the Commission would monitor activity of four main banks and the process of small and medium business development in the regions.
