ASTANA – NEW DELHI. March 20. KAZINFORM President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev confirmed again the Government’s Anti-Crisis Program will provide stability of the national financial system, support construction sector, small and medium businesses, agro-industrial complex and other innovation projects. Addressing the participants of the joint session of the RK Parliament on March 6 the President clarified the principles of the recently adopted Anti-Crisis Program targeted on raising USD 14 bln funds from the internal reserves for saving the country’s economy. In his Message to the Nation “Through Crisis to Renovation and Prosperity” President Nazarbayev noted the adopted measures would allow countering the crisis and promoting further economic growth, the Asian News International reports. “We must implement a new plan of modernization of the economy for the post-crisis period”, he highlighted. “The next two years the Kazakh Government plans to spend more than USD 4 bln for implementation of the projects directed on economy modernization. The most part of the resources will be provided from the National Fund”, the President noted. The Head of the State defined a wide range of the tasks including development of an employment strategy. The document foresees spending of USD 1 bln for the provision of 350 thousand jobs and reconstruction and modernization of utility networks, water-, heating supply, energy and canalization facilities. It was noted that construction, reconstruction and repair of auto- roads as well as renovation of the social infrastructure, primarily, schools and hospitals would be carried out within realization of the strategy of municipal housing economy. According to the President, petro-chemical and energy sectors will get state support in following years as a part of post-crisis development plan. “Such projects as establishment a petrochemical complex in Atyrau, construction of Moynakskaya Hydro-Electric Station and reconstruction of Ekibastus GRES-1, construction of the third energy block of Ekibastuz GRES-2, erection of Balkhash Thermal Power Plant and “Beineu-Bozok-Akbulak” main pipeline, reconstruction of West Europe-West China transport corridor will allow resolving two main problems: food security ensuring and diversification of export”, N. Nazarbayev pointed out. Export specialization will allow creating 500 thousand working places and provide around 8% of additional GDP growth in the nearest 5 years.
