Tarja Halonen: Kazakhstan, Finland have great potential for furthering economic relations
HELSINKI. March 24. KAZINFORM /Yernur Akanbai/ Kazakhstan and Finland have great potential for the development of relations in all sectors of economy, President of Finland Tarja Halonen considers.
Finland is particularly interested in cooperation with Kazakhstan in energy sphere. “We are confident in the development of cooperation in other fields due to modern technologies and the countries’ potential. These are forest industry, metal working and metallurgical complexes. We have great potential for the development of interaction in all spheres of economy”, the President of Finland said. Along with this, Tarja Halonen noted Finland’s interest in cooperation in ecological technologies. In this view the development of cooperation between the two countries’ private sectors is of great importance, she highlighted.
The Kazakh-Finnish Intergovernmental Commission established in 1992 will play significant role in bilateral relations and trade and economic cooperation.
The Finnish side expressed readiness for sharing experience in implementation of the up-to-date innovation technologies and organization of banking sector service taking into consideration the consequences of the global financial crisis. The parties agreed to exchange information in investment policy and investment projects.
