Domestic content in purchases to be strictly controlled, Kazakh PM
SHYMKENT. March 30. KAZINFORM /Tatyana Pylayeva/ Kazakh Vice Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov held a session with the representatives of South-Kazakhstan, Zhambyl and Kyzylorda regions in Shymkent.
The main topic was the increasing share of domestic manufacturers: national companies, public agencies, large businesses and subsoil users in procurement.
The Government demanded to increase the content of Kazakhstan's manufacturers in the purchases conducted under projects. At present a certain legislative regulation is being developed to ensure control over the appropriate content of Kazakhstan participants in purchases. УWe will perform rigid control over every company or public agency to make sure it purchases national goods or services. This is how we can create jobs and develop our country", the Prime Minister said.
He estimated the market that can be developed by national enterprises at USD 15 bln, about 25% being goods and 75% - jobs and services.
The top management of the country thinks that the projects being implemented at the moment and future projects within anti-recessionary programs will help entreprises not only maintain the existing but also create new jobs. УWe have about 900 cooperation memorandums signed to the amount KZT 615 bln, not mentioning large subsoil users such as TengizChevroil and Agip KCOФ, S. Akhmetov noted.
Following the results of the session memorandums were also signed in Shymkent. The enterprises of the South-Kazakhstan region entered into 30 memorandums with national companies to amount of more than KZT 11 bln.
