Stockholm held Business Day on Kazakhstan forum
ASTANA. April 6. KAZINFORM. “Business Day on Kazakhstan” forum organized by the Swedish Trade Council in association with Kazakhstan’s embassy in Sweden took place in Stockholm; Kazinform has leant from the Kazakh MFA’s press service.
Representatives of state bodies, business circles and the Swedish Trade Council took part in the event. Among the participants are more than 60 Swedish firms including those working in Kazakhstan – Ericsson, TeliaSonera, ABB, Volvo, Scania, Sandvik, Grindex and others.
The workshop was aimed at discussing the prospects of bilateral economic relations in the context of implementation of ‘Road to Europe’ government program as well as studying recommendations on business principles developed by the Swedish companies working in Kazakhstan.
Making an opening speech Kazakh Ambassador Kairat Abusseitov informed the participants of the Kazakh Government’s measures on economy stabilization, the main provisions of the President’s annual address to the nation, recommendations of the II Astana Economic Forum to the G20 states and priority infrastructure and investment projects. The diplomat also suggested establishing a special mechanism within the frame of the Swedish Trade Council for expansion of trade-economic cooperation between business communities of Kazakhstan and Sweden, particularly small and medium businesses.
According to the participants, Kazakhstan is a key state in Central Asia, which plays a role of a regional hub with the correspondent infrastructure for Swedish investments.
