KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and President of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad held an extended meeting in Akorda; Kazinform reports. «At the meeting with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad we exchanged opinions on a wide range of issues. One of the main issues of the discussion was increase of the trade turnover between the two countries and ways of overcoming the world financial crisis. For the last six years the trade turnover increased fivefold – from USD 400 mln to USD 2,100 bln. Of course, this index is well below the potential one. Therefore we have agreed that one of the important issues is development of the transport-communication system», N.Nazarbayev said. Kazakhstan and Iran are Caspian Sea neighborhood influences the regional economy which was also discussed at the meeting.
